We are delighted to announce that G Golf Ireland has been appointed to represent the SEVE Collection for the Island of Ireland.
The SEVE Collection honours the remarkable legacy of Severiano Ballesteros, one of golf’s all-time greats, while also inspiring a fresh wave of golfers. In just under ten months, the SEVE Collection has swiftly grown its presence to 16 countries.
The SEVE Collection was proudly showcased at The Open Championship last summer at Royal Troon Golf Club. This event marked the first-ever collaboration between a player and a Major tournament. We are equally thrilled to emphasize our support for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation. By purchasing items from the SEVE Collection, customers support a brand that celebrates Seve’s legacy and helps fund the Foundation’s vital work in brain cancer research and youth golf programs.
The SEVE launch collection is available for order now.

Halloween was originally an ancient Irish pagan festival called “Samhain”, meaning “end of summer.” The Samhain festival began traditions that last to this day as Irish emigrants brought them around the world. In fact, Ireland is considered to be the home of Halloween.
When it comes to golf, we can’t claim Ireland as the home of golf – the Scots would have something to say about that ! But, there is a very long history of golf in Ireland, dating back to the mid 1800’s when the Royal Curragh golf club was established as the first golf club in Ireland. By the end of the 1800’s there were around 70 golf clubs in Ireland including; Portmarnock, Ballybunion, Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Royal Dublin, Royal Belfast, Baltray (Co. Louth), Rosses Point (Co. Sligo), Rosapenna, Lahinch, The Island and others. Nowadays on the Emerald Isle, there are over 400 golf clubs and around 1/3 of the true links courses in the world!
DON’T FORGET!
There are some amazing events coming down the tracks soon to Ireland. Namely, The Open championship at Royal Portrush in July next year and the centenary Ryder Cup in 2027 at Adare Manor. There is also momentum building to bring The Open championship to Portmarnock in the not too distant future – watch this space!
2026 waiting lists are OPEN!
Some of our top venues have opened waiting lists for 2026 in advance of their timesheets opening to the public next year. If you want to get ahead of the crowd, contact us without delay!
Wishing you a very happy Halloween from the home of Halloween and remember – if you want to plan a SPOOKtacular golf experience – please get in touch!

Dublin is the main gateway to Ireland with 30+ million passengers passing through Dublin airport annually. Dublin was founded by the Vikings more than 1000 years ago. Nowadays, it is a bustling, vibrant city. The city has grown up amongst its ancient heritage. There is lots to see and do. We highly recommend that you don’t just use Dublin as a transit point. Spend a few days enjoying all the city has to offer, including of course golf!
There are more than 100 golf courses within the greater Dublin area so there is plenty of choice. We’ve selected some of our favourites below. There are many others that are worth considering as part of your golfing trip to Ireland.
Portmarnock Old
Portmarnock has hosted multiple prestigious events. These include the Irish Open, the Walker Cup, the Amateur Championship, and this year’s Women’s Amateur Championship. It is considered to be the most famous Dublin venue. Portmarnock offers a very fair test of pure links golf. It ranks at #37 in the current Golf Digest World Top 100 courses list. There is good reason it is many of our client’s favourite Irish course. You will feel like you are walking in the footsteps of Legends at this iconic venue.
The Island
As the name suggests, The Island was only accessible by boat until the early 1970’s. In recent times, The Island has hosted the Amateur Championship and is an Open championship qualifying venue. Renowned golf architect Martin Hawtree made some changes in 2019 to elevate the course to even higher levels. Towering dunes, undulating fairways and large greens are particular features which will test all of your golfing skills.
Co. Louth (Baltray)
Irish Open host in 2006 and 2009 when Shane Lowry famously won as an amateur, Co. Louth is among the very best links venues in Ireland. The routing twists and turns its way along the Irish sea. Wind is always a factor when deciding on the club to play. The course is immaculately presented. The private setting creates tranquility. Only the sounds of nature and the sea distract from the beauty of the links. Co. Louth is more than a hidden gem. It is a must play!
The European Club
In the late 1980s, famous golf designer Pat Ruddy set out to own and build a golf course. His goal was to create a masterpiece. He has achieved that and more. Many consider the European Club to be Ireland’s best links golf course. It combines rugged scenic beauty with exceptionally well-designed golf holes. The European Club deserves its place in Golf Digest’s World Top 100 courses list. It will live long in your memory after playing it.
Royal Dublin
Another multiple Irish Open venue, Royal Dublin is one of Ireland’s oldest golf clubs dating back to 1885. This classic links layout is on the Bull Island nature reserve in Dublin bay. A notable feature of the course is the bunkering. Avoiding the sand traps is key to a good score on these links. Still, this is easier said than done when the wind blows! The historic clubhouse commands panoramic views across the links and Dublin bay. There are not many better 19th holes in Ireland!
The K Club
Host of the 2006 Ryder Cup, the K Club will again host the Irish Open in 2025. Nestled in the lush countryside on the outskirts of Dublin, the K Club has 2 championship courses. It also has extensive practice facilities. You can retire to a luxury 5-star hotel at the end of the golfing day. The K Club is an oasis of calm. It is set in the midst of a 550 acre estate. It has award winning restaurants, spa and leisure facilities onsite. This is a destination golf resort considered to be the most luxurious in Dublin. Go on, treat yourself!
The Jameson Links
Situated on the shoreline of a rugged peninsula along Dublin’s coastline, Jameson Links first opened for play in 1995. Bernard Langer designed the 18 hole course. It has hosted professional and elite amateur events. These include the 2008 and 2009 Ladies Irish Open and the 2021 Irish Challenge. Jameson Links fully utilizes the dunes. It uses the natural terrain to provide a good test for golfers of all abilities. With a high quality 4*+ hotel on site which was the former home of the Jameson Whiskey dynasty, this is a perfect Dublin golf base.
Killeen Castle
Killeen Castle is a relatively “new kid on the block.” It is a Jack Nicklaus designed parkland layout. It is set in the ancient Irish countryside on the outskirts of Dublin city. Killeen was the host of the Solheim Cup in 2011. It is also the 2025 Irish Challenge tour venue. The course first opened for play in 2008. Measuring more than 7,700 from the tips, choose your teebox colour wisely to match your golf abilities! The imposing castle dates back almost 1000 years and there is high quality lodge accommodation onsite. Visitors are always welcomed and leave feeling very impressed with their experience!
So, what are you waiting for? DON’T DELAY – 2025 time sheets are open and filling fast. Please contact us to book your golf trip of a lifetime. For ideas and inspiration check out our brochure here.

What better way to enjoy a visit to Dublin?

Solheim & Ryder Cup week update. It’s 1 nil to Europe. Sort of. But not really!
Well, that was a Solheim Cup for the ages this past weekend! The first tie in Solheim Cup history, meaning that Europe as holders retained the trophy. After Europe were hammered 4:0 in the opening foursomes session on Friday, it was difficult to see past a victory for USA. However, Europe’s ladies rallied superbly to draw level heading into Sunday’s singles. Fittingly, Spaniard Carlota Ciganda, fired 2 incredible approach shots on holes 16 and 17 in her singles match to win the point which retained the cup for Europe.
And, what are the chances of a tie this coming weekend when the Ryder cup tees off at Marco Simone in Rome? History would say, very little, as it’s only happened twice. The first time was at Royal Birkdale in 1969 when Jack Nicklaus famously conceded a putt to Tony Jacklin to tie the match and retain the cup for the USA. The Belfry in 1989 was the stage for the second tie when Europe retained the cup. So, it’s 1 tie, 1 retention each for Europe and USA in the Ryder Cup.
On paper, Team USA had higher average world rankings than Team Europe for the Solheim Cup. Same goes in the Ryder Cup. But the matchplay format doesn’t care about world rankings or reputations. The singles matches are 1 to 1 combat while the foursomes and fourball formats present very different challenges to the strokeplay events the world’s elite golfers play week in, week out.
We think it’s going to be a close call. Check out the video to see my chat with Frank Gannon about the tournaments.
Don’t forget, the centenary of the Ryder Cup will be held at Adare Manor in 2027. Get ahead of the crowd and experience this amazing venue and others on your golf trip of a lifetime. Contact us to start planning your next dream golf vacation in the British Isles and Europe.
GO EUROPE!
Much is made of the fact that Ireland has 9 courses in the current Golf Digest World Top 100 courses. And rightly so. The list is a who’s who of Irish golf courses – Royal County Down #1, Royal Portrush #8, Ballybunion #18, Lahinch #41, Waterville #60, Portmarnock #62, Old Head of Kinsale #85, Co. Sligo #91 and the European Club #93.
However, we wanted to shine a spotlight this month on some of our “hidden gems” that may not be on that particular list but are amazing experiences in their own right. Golf in Ireland is concentrated (for the most part) in 4 regions – Dublin area, Northern Ireland, North West Ireland and South West Ireland. You can see the geographical clustering on the map below.
We’ve selected a number of hidden gems in each region that are all top class championship venues. In fact, the list includes Irish Open and Ryder Cup venues, so, perhaps “must plays” rather than “hidden gems” is more accurate in some cases.

Dublin area.
Royal Dublin, Co. Louth (Baltray), The Island, Portmarnock Links, Druids Glen, Mount Juliet, Carton House, Killeen Castle, K Club, Powerscourt.
Northern Ireland.
Ardglass, Royal Belfast, Castlerock, Portstewart, Lough Erne Resort.
North West Ireland.
Co. Donegal (Murvagh), Rosapenna, Portsalon, Ballyliffin, Narin and Portnoo, Co. Sligo (Rosses Point), Enniscrone, Carne, Galway Bay.
South West Ireland.
Adare Manor, Dooks, Killarney Golf Club, Hogs Head, Cork Golf Club, Fota Island, Dromoland Castle.
With over 400 golf courses to choose from and 1/3 of the true links courses in the world, Ireland is a bucket list destination for the discerning golfer. And that’s not even mentioning our world famous hospitality and the “craic” in the “19th hole”! Put playing golf in Ireland top of your golfing to do list!
REMEMBER:
Time sheets for 2024 are now open and starting to fill. There are also some big events coming down the tracks soon to Ireland – The Open at Royal Portrush in 2025 and The Ryder Cup in 2027 at Adare Manor. We look forward to welcoming you on your next golf holiday!

US President, Joe Biden, is visiting Ireland this week to celebrate 25 years of the Good Friday Agreement which brought peace to Northern Ireland and an end to “The Troubles”. A big winner from the peace dividend is tourism and hospitality, right across the island of Ireland.
President Biden’s itinerary includes stops at Belfast and Dublin as well as his ancestral homelands of Co. Louth and Co. Mayo. As Joe Biden is a golfer, we imagined what his Irish golf itinerary could look like if he had time between official engagements to play a few holes…
DAY 1:
Belfast area. Golf at Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Portstewart, Castlerock, Royal Belfast or Ardglass. Do the Titanic Experience or take a Black Cabs tour of Belfast after golf.

DAY 2:
Co. Louth area. Top class links golf is available at Baltray (Co. Louth GC), Seapoint or Laytown & Bettystown to name but a few. Try the seafood chowder at Carlingford harbour.

DAY 3:
Dublin area. Spoiled for an amazing choice of world class golf courses. Portmarnock, The Island, The European Club, Royal Dublin, Portmarnock Links, the K Club, Druids Glen, Killeen Castle…and the list goes on. A visit to EPIC museum showcases the tale of the Irish diaspora around the world down through the ages.
Day 4:
Co. Mayo area. In the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, we recommend golf at breathtaking links venues like Carne, Enniscrone or Rosses Point (Co. Sligo GC). Salmon fishing in the Corrib before a quick hop on Marine One to Dublin airport to catch Airforce One home!
Now, that would be quite the Presidential Irish golf trip! In all seriousness though, it’s great to see Joe Biden reconnecting with his Irish roots and shining a spotlight on Ireland as a welcoming place to visit.
REMEMBER:
Time sheets for 2024 are now open and starting to fill. Yours in golf,
Saint Patrick’s day is upon us, the day where the whole world goes green and everyone is a little bit Irish! It makes us proud to see so many iconic buildings light up in green all around the world in celebration of Ireland’s national holiday on March 17.
And, this year we should recognise the fact that our good friend and most famous Patrick from Ireland when it comes to golf – the one and only Padraig Harrington – has just been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the class of 2024! Padraig is Gaelic for Patrick and is a legend in our lifetime. 3 majors, 36 professional wins, Ryder Cup winner, Ryder Cup Captain, World Cup winner, Walker Cup winner and a fantastic Ambassador for Irish golf. Well done Padraig, we are very proud of your achievements! Check out the video below to see what Padraig says about golfing in Ireland!
Speaking of legends, it’s said that Saint Patrick chased all the snakes out of Ireland. We like to imagine that this mass exodus is one of the reasons we have such amazing undulating fairways on our world class golf courses!
There are so many world famous venues and hidden gems to discover in Ireland – more than 400 golf courses, 1/3 of the true links courses in the world and 9 golf courses in the current Golf Digest World Top 100! And, there’s our legendary 19th hole hospitality and stunning landscape with 40 shades of green.
So this Saint Patrick’s day, press the green button, and start planning your unforgettable golf trip to Ireland!
